Gospel Entreaty
This Sunday, we push pause on the apologetic argument for justification by faith and push play a personal, heart-felt plea for peace. The Galatian believers, whom Paul loved dearly, had changed their minds about him. They had begun to treat him as an enemy, not a friend, and all because he confronted them with the truth of the gospel.
In Matthew 5 Jesus describes a situation in which there is alienation and estrangement between brothers. If, as you engage in worship, you remember that your brother has something against you, He says, “…leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother…”. Change the way you feel about what has happened and make peace with your brother, “…and then come and offer your gift.” (Matthew 5:23–24).
A similar plea for reconciliation is made in Galatians 4:12 - 20. Join us today as we discuss Paul's Gospel Entreaty.
