The theme of readiness from 1 Peter 4:1 - 6 into verses 7 - 11. A ready mind will inevitably result in wise actions. Christ’s way of thinking will produce Christ’s way of living.

There is implied urgency in our doing because “The end of all things is at hand.”  In this context, the end refers to Christ’s second coming. To say that the end is near is to say that His return is imminent. It is the storm cloud threatening on the horizon.

And its imminence should stimulate us to action in this world. We are galvanized by it to make our lives count now. In that sentiment we need to talk about our three-fold responsibility While Our Master is Away.
