Justification, our once and for all vindication through the blood of Christ, is the foundation for our identity as believers. It is not a vaccine against sin only. We haven’t merely punched our tickets to Heaven. Justification is meant to carry us across the finish line.

Living this way is more difficult than you think. If it were easy, the temptation to justify ourselves by our works would have no appeal. If it were easy, we wouldn’t be walking around with simmering anxiety about our okay-ness.
