This letter ends with some essential actions that will ensure a believer’s endurance during the fiery trial. We have been told to rely on the experience of others, to humble ourselves under the mighty had of God, and to cast our anxieties upon the One who bore our sins (v. 5 - 7). In the second installment of these God-prescribed behaviors, we are reminded once again that we are in a battle for our very lives. But the intensity of the spiritual war is not without a glorious purpose. The God of all grace has some incredible things in store for those He has called in Christ.
