The Immeasurable Blessing of Election

As we begin to dissect and explore the immeasurable blessings of being in Christ, verse 4 names the first of them - election.

Attempts to explain this doctrine have caused much consternation in the church. So, the way I see it, we have a couple of options. We can fall back on tradition. We can shrug it off. Or we can lean into the Word of God, trust the Holy Spirit to illuminate the truth.

Let's take the later approach. Without hesitation or apology, the same man though the same Spirit who said, whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13), boldly declares that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. And therein lies the mystery that is the blessing of election.
