Politics with Jesus - Part 2

We all sense something is going on, but we have reservations because we’ve been told that we (the church) shouldn’t talk about it. We've been told that it is politicizing the church, or it is culture waring or American nationalism. Maybe we should just keep our heads down and be quiet.

One main reason we uneasy is the fact that high-profile Christian leaders have begun to change their position or biblical issues and they parroting political rhetoric. We wonder how once trusted voices who spoke truth now seem more like mouthpieces for the state. All the virtue signaling and scripture twisting casts doubts on things we hold dear. 

Today, we will meet the demonic distortion of scripture head on by looking at a second political conversation that Jesus had with those who have both religious and civil authority. We can learn much about how to engage in culture and politics from this conversation. My hope is that it will assuage our uneasiness and give us clarity.
