Responsibly Free

As I continue to speak from a place of need in an attempt to address my own bad attitude, I want to know what my responsibility is to my government in my generation. In verse 16 of 1 Peter 2, we are encouraged to live as people who are free, with some stipulations.

We are not autonomous. God has created us to live under authority. Therefore, we need civic accountability.

We are not independent. God created us to live in community. Therefore, we need relational connection.

We are living in an age when everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes, which reveals a lack of personal responsibility. This is true even among God's redeemed people. So, what is my responsibility to my government in my generation? It is a pertinent question during the turmoil of an election year.
