A Better Covenant - Part 3

Jesus has been named as the guarantor of the new covenant (7:22). He is God’s pledge to fulfill every agreement of the new covenant, so He is the High Priest of good things that have come. He is the One Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), therefore He enacts His covenant on better promises (8:6). As such, He has secured our eternal redemption (9:12). And He has purified our consciences from dead works to serve the Living God (9:14).

We pick up in Hebrews 9:15 this Sunday, where we learn how He is able to accomplish all that. Truly, He achieved all that and more because He has perfectly met every demand God made in the law under the first covenant.
