The New Self

To be in Christ means a means to be a new creation. Old things have passed away. All things are new - a new heart, a new mind, a new will (2 Cor. 5:17). We have a new self. Not a better self. Not an improved self. A totally transformed and altogether new self.

The new self, unlike the old self, has been recreated according to what God is, righteous and truly holy. What a staggering statement about the reality of salvation!  Our new self shares in Christ's divine nature (2 Pet. 1:4). We literally become the righteousness of God in Christ by faith (2 Corinthians 5:21).

And the point Paul is making in Ephesians 4:17 - 24 is that our manner of life, our walk, should be in step with the reality of our new self. Join us this Sunday at 10:00 AM as we begin to take a look at The New Self.
